Columbia’s Investiture Ceremony will be celebrating President and CEO Shantay Bolton’s formal investment as the college’s new leader, marking a milestone as the college’s first Black woman to lead the college.

Since 1992, the college has gone through four presidents, including John Duff who served from 1992 through 2000 and Warrick L. Carter from 2000 to 2013. 

Shantay Bolton will be taking over the reins from Kwang-Wu Kim. Kim was president from 2013-2024.

Bolton spoke at the 90th Columbia Investiture Ceremony alongside her son, other family members and many members of the Columbia faculty.
