The Black Student Union held a career readiness event to help students of all years and majors learn what skills employers are looking for.
At the event, held in The Hive on Wednesday, March 11, Assistant Director of New Student Programs and BSU Co-Adviser Rajah Varnado emphasized the importance of communication with employers.
“We just want to foster professionalism and just make sure that they're showing up. And if you can't show up, just advocate and communicate,” Varnado said.
Varnado and Vice President for Student Affairs Connie Stanley also encouraged students to build a professional network and use campus resources, like the Career Center.
