Chicago has been selected as the permanent home of the Candy Hall of Fame, following a competitive selection process that included Orlando and New York.
The new attraction will be located on the third through fifth floors of a building along Michigan Avenue, bringing a major candy-themed destination to the city’s downtown.
Organizers cited Chicago’s long-standing connection to the candy industry as a key factor in the decision. The city is known for producing iconic sweets, including Tootsie Roll, along with a range of other confections that have shaped the industry.
The project also draws inspiration from the World's Columbian Exposition, where candy played a prominent role in showcasing innovation and new products. Organizers say the Hall of Fame aims to continue that legacy by serving as a hub for candy culture in Chicago and across the country.
The space is expected to include a restaurant and a 20,000-square-foot retail area, both centered around a candy-themed experience.
Officials say the attraction is set to open this spring, adding a new destination for both residents and visitors along the Magnificent Mile.
