As graduation approaches at Columbia College Chicago, students are facing increasing challenges in the job market.
Resources like internship advisors are available at the Student Center to help students prepare for the workforce. Still, many say securing a job has become more difficult in today’s competitive environment.
Students cite limited opportunities, a lack of connections and increased competition as major barriers. Balancing coursework, part-time jobs and the job search process has added to the pressure for many nearing graduation.
The college’s Career Center offers services including resume assistance, mock interviews and one-on-one advising to help students navigate the job search. Advisors encourage students to use these resources early to build confidence and improve their chances of success.
Some students say taking advantage of these services has helped them feel more prepared as they approach graduation.
Despite the challenges, many remain hopeful that the right opportunity will come as they continue their search.
