Columbia students get ready for graduation through Grad Expo.

With graduation season approaching, it's time for Columbia’s Grad Expo., students’ one-stop shop for all the things they need to know to prepare for graduation.

“Grad Expo., to me, is kind of where it hits hard that you’re graduating,” said Angel Quintana, a senior creative writing major. “It's a culmination of everything of the four years, or however many years you’ve been here. It's basically letting it sink in that in a few weeks you’re going to be walking that stage.” 

Grad Expo. takes place after spring break, serving as a checkpoint before students get their degrees, and a huge milestone. But while graduation is exciting, it doesn’t come without its stresses. 

“I think for me, I’m struggling with the overload. I had the opportunity to go to South by Southwest, and then we had spring break, so I’m just a little tired. There are a lot of things ramping up, so that’s been a toll on me, but I'm enjoying my last year, so it's not too bad,” said Kalia Patton, a senior music business major. 

The deadline to apply for graduation and be a part of commencement is April 13.
