Mayor Brandon Johnson sits down with Columbia College Chicago President and CEO Shantay Bolton for ‘Lakeside Chat’

Major Brandon Johnson made an appearance at Columbia College Chicago on April 24 to discuss the creative workforce in Chicago and the economic health of the city. 

The event, which took place on the third of 618 S. Michigan Ave at The Hive, was moderated by the college’s President and CEO Shantay Bolton. The conversation aimed to foster direct civic engagement between city hall and the campus community.

Conversations veered towards discussions around the heavily anticipated Manifest Arts Festival. Bolton made reference to the city’s Cultural Affairs and Special Events department as the signature sponsor of the college’s upcoming event. 

Johnson said that events like Manifest are economic drivers for the city.
