New 25-story, mixed-use development going up near Pritzker Park.

A new 25-story, mixed-use development near Columbia's South Loop campus is the winning proposal to replace a city-owned parking garage at 331-35 Plymouth Court, reported by Block Club Chicago.


The development, spearheaded by DL3 Realty, will be going up near Harold Washington Library and cost $162.2 million. The development will feature 300 mixed-income residential units as well as retail, restaurant space and coworking space, according to a report from Block Club Chicago. 


This development seeks to improve parts at nearby Pritzker Park at State and Van Buren streets. The property is also adjacent to the Standard Club, which served as a migrant shelter until October 2024. 


The project is backed by Ald. Lamont Robinson (4th) is likely to receive the approval needed to move forward from the City Council’s zoning committee and full council.
